Pecos County Amateur Radio Club Hosts 24-Hour Emergency Communication Challenge at Field Day Event

This weekend the Pecos County Amateur Radio Club participating in one of the largest amateur radio events in North America—Field Day— hosted by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). The public was invited to visit the club’s operating station, set up outside the Fort Stockton Visitors Center and Chamber of Commerce, from Saturday through Sunday, as members take on a 24-hour challenge to test their skills, equipment, and emergency communication capabilities.

Born June 28, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jamie Sue Lancaster Dunn was the daughter of WWII Navy veteran Dr. James Dayle Lancaster and PHS-registered nurse Nella Susan Moran Lancaster. She grew up in Fort Stockton, where she graduated with pride as part of the Fort Stockton High School Class of 1969.
