Franks spurs win in Pecos

PECOS – A month ago, Cole Franks was in the Utah mountains exchanging vows with his wife, Dustie. On Saturday night, he was riding one of the top bucking horses in ProRodeo, matching moves with Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Secret’s Out for 90.5 points to win the bareback riding title at the West of the Pecos Rodeo.

A 15-year-old Fort Stockton boy died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Railroad Avenue, authorities said, marking another tragic loss for the small West Texas community. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the crash occurred around 5:45 a.m.

The Fort Stockton Police Department is actively investigating a fatal hit-andrun that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 1, and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved. The incident took place shortly after 1:00 a.m.
