The City of Fort Stockton will host a star-spangled Fourth of July celebration at Rooney Park, featuring live music, food contests, a car show, and a fireworks display. The festivities run from noon to midnight, with additional events including a morning parade and flag retirement ceremonies.

A 15-year-old Fort Stockton boy died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Railroad Avenue, authorities said, marking another tragic loss for the small West Texas community. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the crash occurred around 5:45 a.m.

The Fort Stockton Police Department is actively investigating a fatal hit-andrun that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 1, and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved. The incident took place shortly after 1:00 a.m.
