I remember the time I was changing the heater filter on our house furnace. I got a little careless and stuck myself with one of the wires in the filter. As I looked at the tiny drops of blood I realized if I were in the medical profession and working on a person who had AIDS (HIV) I would have just condemned myself to a life of misery and death (no cure for HIV) because of one little mistake. In God’s realm it is also the same way and all it takes is one little mistake, (one sin) and we are condemned to death (separated from God never allowed into Heaven). Many people think because they have not robbed a bank or killed someone they have not sinned, and they are going to heaven. Romans 3:23 and 6:23 teach differently. That sounds like bad news, and it is, but unlike aids for which there is no cure, there is a cure for sin (Romans 5:8). It is the innocent shed blood of Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:28, Colossians 1:14). It has the power to cleanse our sins and make us whole again. It can remove the sentence of death that we deserve. Make sure you have confessed your sins to God and asked Christ into your heart as Lord and Savior (1 John 1:9, Romans 10:13) and start living the new and wonderful life God created you for (Ephesians 2:8-10).

HEAD OVER MEALS The games of the 33rd Olympiad are complete in Paris, France, this week, with the opening ceremonies kicking off this year’s Summer Games last month. And what better way to celebrate our U.S.

Fort Stockton, brace yourselves! The highly anticipated Pioneer Coaches Show, presented by First National Bank, is making its grand return next Wednesday, August 21, marking the beginning of an electrifying Panther Football season.

The Fort Stockton City Council held its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, August 12. During this meeting two people were honored on behalf of the city by the council, former mayor, Mike Walling, and the current Miss Fort Stockton, Aubrie Salgado.

The Pecos County Commissioners Court met for regular session on Monday August 12. The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service was featured in this meeting, with Pecos member of the 4-H Club, Samual Sparks, attending to share with the commissioners his 4-H Congress Bill project, which he presented in Austin.
