The Fort Stockton Recreation Department honored 11-year-old Mathew Natividad, of the Fort Stockton Recreational Majors Baseball Pirates, for his remarkable achievement in hitting the first home run of the season. The impressive three-run homer, estimated to have traveled at least 220 yards, sailed over the right field fence during the May 20 game against the Dodgers, leading the Pirates to a 4-3 victory.

In a remarkable achievement, Fort Stockton Independent School District has been awarded the prestigious Outstanding Sportsmanship Award of District 3 4-A. Fort Stockton Athletics are hosting a Strength and Conditioning Camp (SAC Camp) for all Panther and Prowler student athletes grades 6-12. The camp will run Monday through Wednesday with Thursdays acting as an open weight room/gym.
