Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where incoming high school seniors engage in low ropes and high ropes activities and develop skills as leaders while having fun and making connections.
The Rotary Club of Fort Stockton sponsors four students with a scholarship to attend the weeklong camp.
This year’s camp was from July 9-15, with another camp July 15-21. For next year, students can contact the local Rotary Club or any of their members for an application.

It is with great sadness that the family of Senaida Ureta González announce her death after a rapid battle with cancer, on June 27, 2023, in Kingsland, Texas. Known as “Nana” by most of her family, she was 88, and died peacefully with members of her family by her side. She was a native of Fort Stockton, Texas, and daughter of Cosme Damian Urueta (Ureta) and Josefina García Ureta.
