The City of Fort Stockton announced on Tuesday that Ernesto “Net” Velasquez has been selected as the Interim Police Chief for the Fort Stockton Police Department with the effective date of Jan. 10, 2023.
Velasquez began his tenure with the Fort Stockton Police Department as an assistant chief on Nov. 18, 2019 following service in the United States Army and as a Texas State Trooper.
Terrell Ray Scarbrough, age 65, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2022, surrounded by family, in Fort Stockton, Texas.
With a heavy heart we report that our beloved father, H.T. Morgan, passed away on Dec. 24, 2022. H.T. was born on March 17, 1931.
He served in the Air Force in his early years where his travels took him to the Middle East and other countries. For most of his life he was a car salesman in Fort Stockton and the West Texas area until he retired in 2005.

*De’Andre Lamar Barnes, DOB 8/1/83, offense date 6/9/22 (CR-24884, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces) defendant has entered into a 6-month pretrial intervention with a $500 fee.
