Fort Stockton Community Theatre’s youth group, the Paisano Players, will open performances of “A Christmas Story,” adapted by Philip Grecian and directed by Reba Subia and Staci Schoenfeldt, this Thursday, Dec. 8, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson Street Theatre.

32nd Annual Pecan Show announces winners

The 32nd Annual Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office’s Pecos County Pecan and Pecan Food Show took place Dec. 1-2, with winners presented on Dec. 2 at Pecos County State Bank. Grand Champions in each division were awarded $550 and Reserve Grand Champions received $400.

Dear Editor, As Pecos County voters head to the polls to vote on the creation of a hospital district, there is a solution to our county hospital’s solvency that could save it overnight: accept the Medicaid expansion. It’s no secret that our hospital is in debt because of the costs of covering uninsured patients.
