Maria Carmelita Ramirez, 72, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away Jan. 8, 2022. Carmelita was born in Hale Center, Texas, to Alfredo Martinez, Sr., and Martha Baldera Martinez. Carmelita went on to marry her loving husband Antonio Tony” Ramirez on Feb. 21, 1980, and they lived a wonderful life together for 42 years until her passing.

Juan Manuel Johnny” Cordero, 71, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Jan. 12, 2022. Johnny was born to Jose Maria (Joe) Cordero, Jr. and Gregoria Ramos Cordero on Oct. 2, 1950.

He attended school in Fort Stockton, Texas, and received his bachelors degree from Midland College.

A young Fort Stockton powerlifting began their season on a high note in Monahans, competing against the Loboes and Marfa.

What if selling rocks could take you across the country? Well according to a traveler named Logan, it’s completely possible. “I got here because I was able to sell $70 worth of obsidian to a lady in San Antonio,” he said holding the glasslike rock.
