Toy drive to bring cheer to children

A local church is working to give away 500 toys to children before Christmas. “I know it’s just a toy, but a toy to a child who maybe wasn’t going to get one this season is a big deal to us,” People Church Pastor Victor Lopez said.

Two cats peered out the window of a silver hearse as a man named Smokey came into view and said, “I’m not a mortician, but I used to be.” The Colorado native stuck a cigar in his mouth and walked over to the hood of his 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. “This fighting duck hood ornament is a little movie star,” he began.

Locals enjoy time at Stockton Market

Local vendors scattered across Zero Stone Park, adjacent to the Pecos County Courthouse, on a brisk afternoon to sell merchandise for the Stockton Market and enjoy time with friends and family. The event was held on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Residents and visitors were also invited to participate in a sweater weather coat drive for the chance to win a raffle prize, while also helping the community stay warm this winter season with a new coat.
