THEATRE TO HOST ‘THE BUTLER DID IT’

The Fort Stockton Community Theatre will host the play “The Butler Did It,” written by Todd Wallinger and directed by Susann Hall. The play starring nine of FSCT’s young people will open on Thursday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m. at The Nelson Street Theatre. The Pecos County Commissioners Court decided to move forward with a 70% tax abatement agreement with Pavo Bess, LLC for the construction of a $62 million battery energy storage system at Monday’s regular meeting.

Dr. Gabriel Zamora announced as FSISD Superintendent finalist

The Fort Stockton Independent School District School Board made their official decision on who the next superintendent will moving forward at the group’s special on May 5.

Dr. Gabriel Zamora received a unanimous vote by school board to become the district’s next superintendent.

The current Olfen Independent School District Superintendent was selected from a group of over 40 candidates that applied for the position.

Longhorns qualify six athletes for state meet

Mariana Sanchez has led the Longhorns all season no matter the sport. Whether it was on the trails of cross country courses last fall, on the hardwood during the basketball season, or on the track this spring, the upperclassman succeeded.

Walk-off HR ends Panthers season

The Fort Stockton baseball team was one out away from securing a spot in the bi-district round of the Class 4A playoffs during Friday’s contest against Monahans in Seminole. Then with one swing of the bat the season came to a conclusion for the Panthers.

Relay set to compete at state

The Fort Stockton Panthers 800-meter relay team will take to the track at Austin at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus on May 6 at approximately 6:25 p.m. to compete at state in Class 4A.
