Watching the Olympics

Body
Last week my wife and I would sit on our couch in the evenings and watch the highlights of the Olympics. We loved seeing the different events and seeing all the athletics from different countries. It takes a lot of dedication, sacrifice and effort to qualify for the Olympics. Anyone there is a winner, but some get special recognition like gold, silver and bronze.

From the Pulpit

Body
Another question to ponder during this season of Lent is: How do you respond to evil? In biology class, we learned that when an organism recognizes a threat it will respond in one of two ways—fight or flight. We see this same survival instinct at work on the night of Jesus ’betrayal and arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
