Pecos County Memorial Hospital Launches Employee Scholarship Program to Boost Professional Growth and Retention Last month, the Pecos County Memorial Hospital District approved an innovative scholarship program designed to support employees in furthering their education while strengthening the hospital’s workforce. The initiative, spearheaded by Chief Nursing Officer Shawn Nethery, offers tuition, books, and continued wages for staff pursuing medical degrees—in exchange for a commitment to work at the hospital postgraduation.

Monty was a resident of Sugar Land, TX but his heart resided at his beloved place near Winters, TX where he loved to entertain family and a very long list of friends. Monty was born in San Antonio, TX on December 16, 1969 and grew up in McCamey, TX.

Military troops deployed to Big Bend Sector to support border security efforts

Last Month, at the first of several scheduled press briefings, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP)officials announced a partnership between the USBP and the Department of Defense, deploying an initial 200 active-duty troops from Fort Carson, CO, to support border security efforts in the Big Bend Sector. The briefing took place at the USBP's Alpine station.
U.S. Border Patrol Special Operations Supervisor Ricardo Barragan, Chief Patrol Agent Lloyd Easterling, Executive Commander Major Jared Steffani, and Chief of Public Affairs Lt. Colonel Sarah Ray held a press briefing on Friday at the Big Bend Sector’s Alpine office, highlighting the partnership between the U.S. Border Patrol and the Department of Defense to secure our southern border.
