Tough District Opener

The Fort Stockton Prowler basketball teams tipped off their district season with a trio of games against the Seminole Maidens at home on January 3. The matches marked the start of a new year and the beginning of district play, but the day proved challenging for the Prowlers as they fell short across all levels.

JANUARY 1955- STOCK SHOW SCENES- Pictures of the 1954 County Livestock Show events may have different characters this year, but many will depict similar scenes. The picture shows champion lambs of the 1954 county show, with Bruce Griffith and the grand champion. Dale Barthelemy of Imperial and the champion crossbred, and Clifton Grittman and his champion fine wool lamb.

On Monday, December 23, the Pecos County Commissioners Court convened for a packed session at the county courthouse in Fort Stockton, addressing a wide range of issues from public library appointments to substantial infrastructure projects.
