White House dismisses future

Body
Prior to his death, Los Angeles Sunday night talk show host Terry Anderson used to open his broadcast with a heads up to his listeners - “If you ain’t mad, you ain’t paying attention.” Most Americans are paying attention to the wide-open Southwest border, and the Afghan nationals influx. But, to use Anderson’s vernacular, Americans ain’t paying enough attention, and they ain’t angry enough.

Where Ya Headed?

Like many roadside attractions, Paisano Pete has become a tradition for generations of travelers. The giant roadrunner received a warm greeting from a family out of Central Texas, who have consistently visited the fiberglass sculpture over the years.

PCHC sets celebration at Horsehead Crossing

Body
Pecos County Historical Commission (PCHC) president Paul Weatherby recently announced a two-day celebration at historic Horsehead Crossing on the Pecos River to be held Nov. 5-6. The event was first held in 2020 to commemorate the various historical figures who passed over this well-known crossing throughout the 16th-19th centuries, including the Comanche War Trail, the Emigrant Trail, the Butterfield Overland Stage, and the Goodnight-Loving Trail, which was made famous by Larry McMurtry’s Lonesome Dove.

A story of healing through faith

Body
A favorite story of faith and healing happened as Jesus was going through Jericho on his way to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. The road was crowded with fellow travelers. Jesus would likely have had his disciples and others that were listening to him teach following in his wake. Plus, it was the law that any Jewish male over 12 years old and lived within 15 miles of Jerusalem was required to attend Passover.
