Midland College Williams Regional Technical Training Center Law Enforcement Academy Cohort 3 Cadet Class of 2021 held a graduation ceremony on July 29. Congratulations to cadet graduates Emilio Briones, Donnie De La Cruz, Jonathan Lechuga, Adriana Rodriguez, Jessica Sherrell and Estevan Tarnez. Students began the program in September 2020 and have completed 768 hours of training in 47 different topics included in the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Peace Officer course. In West Texas, watermelon is considered a staple in our diets. August has been established as National Watermelon Month and of course this big fruit deserves it’s own special day as well. This year we celebrate the big day on Aug. 3. Sweet and tasty, watermelons are one of summer’s favorite fruit, and are a regular at just about everyone’s summer picnics or parties.
