St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church adds new service

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church announces that Father Michael Wallens will be celebrating Eucharistic services in Fort Stockton every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. A Bible Study, starting in September, will also be led by Father Wallens at 4:00 p.m. each Sunday for those who may be interested. The Bible Study and the worship service will take place in the sanctuary of the historic St. Stephen’s Church on Spring Drive across from Comanche Springs Swimming Pool.

Fort Stockton native to retire from USPS

Rey Lopez will retire from the United States Postal Service on Friday, Aug. 27 after 31 years of service. “I love my job. My customers, I’ll miss them,” Lopez said. Lopez is a Fort Stockton native, graduating high school from Fort Stockton High School in 1972. Lopez will officially retire on Aug. 27 and has worked for the Fort Stockton office since 1993.
