February 1969 issue: CHARIMAN’S CHOICE – Mrs. Frank Warren Jr., chairman of District Four, Permian Basin Girl Scout Council, was honored Monday with the first opportunity in Fort Stockton to buy her choice of the four varieties of Girl Scout cookies of which the council wide sale officially begins on Valentine’s Day (tomorrow). Calling at her home with their wares were Susan Smith, center, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Smith; and Allison Harral, daughter of Major and Mrs. Gene Harral.

December 2000 issue: Templo Hossana Pentecostal Church on Sanderson Highway (285) has a new pastor. Johnny Almanza was appointed as the new pastor and has been leading the congregation since mid October. Almanza moved to Fort Stockton with his wife Cecilia and their three children to accept this position. Their son Erby is 12, and attending sixth grade at the middle school; daughters Ashley, age four, and Irene, age five, both attend Fort Stockton Head Start.
