February 8, 1954 – January 27, 2025 Larry Lee McCallister, age 70, passed away on January 27, at his home in Alpine, Texas. Born on February 8, 1954, in Hugoton, Kansas, Larry was the son of Thomas and Dorothy McCallister and the younger brother of Jim McCallister.

Silvia Quilo, a beloved figure in her community and a cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully on January 18, in Odessa, Texas, at the age of 85. Born on February 9, 1939, in Shafter, Texas, Silvia’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.

Katherine Jane Crittendon was born November 9, 1927, in Marfa, Texas. She passed from this life on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at age 97.

Following a lengthy and hard-fought battle, Edward James Allaire, of Midland, passed away on Monday, January 13, with his wife of 31 years by his side. Known to most as Butch, he was often seen cruising the streets of Fort Stockton in some classics, hitting it “miles” on the golf course, and dipping a worm in the scarce waters of West Texas.

Lucia Isabel Lujan, Newborn, of Fort Stockton, passed away on Wednesday January 15, 2025, at Dell Children’s Ascension Hospital in Austin, Texas. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.

Denzil Olton Cottrell, 64, of Fort Stockton, passed away on January 11, in Odessa, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, January 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Melvin Leon Reynolds, resident of Lancaster, Texas passed away on January 10 at the age of 85. Born on December 21, 1939 in Colbert, Oklahoma to Arduth R. Reynolds and Virgie Lavonne Reynolds (Née Reeves), after high school, Melvin attended Southeastern State College in Oklahoma, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Education.

Joan Ligon of Harper passed away January 3 at the age of 86. Joan is survived by her husband, Jerry Ligon of Harper; 2 step-daughters, Rebecca Hillshire of Ballinger and Roxanne Sowell of Boerne; brother Wesley Withman Jr. of Bryan.
