CVB Board drops to nine members, street fixture plans presented

The Fort Stockton City Council unanimously approved a change to Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Board by-laws on March 14 at the group’s regular meeting.

The city council approved the resignation CVB board members of Jordan Gonzales and Heather Noah at the meeting and as a result, the board will now consist of nine people instead of 11.

The board was previously at seven people in years past but grew to 11 people after the Fort Stockton Downtown Association officially dissolved last year.

Entities agree on intent for new recreation center

The intent of building a new recreation facility in Fort Stockton has officially been agreed to – contingent upon funding approval.

The Fort Stockton City Council, Pecos County Commissioners, and the Fort Stockton Independent School District School Board gathered at the county’s courthouse on March 17 for an intergovernmental meeting.

Panthers baseball: Ramirez, Dominguez ignite late rally in district-opening win

A late rally by Fort Stockton propelled the Panthers to a victory in their district opener at Greenwood on March 22, extending the Panthers’ win streak to four games.

The Rangers jumped out to 6-0 lead by the end of the first inning after scratching out six of their eight hits in the first three frames.

The Panthers rally began in the fifth inning and by the end of the sixth frame, Fort Stockton had a 9-6 lead. The Panthers added two runs in the seventh to cap their 11-6 victory.
