Fort Stockton’s playoffs hopes are still alive and well.

The Prowlers traveled to Seminole on April for the teams second district matchup and Fort Stockton came away with a victory in another down to the wire finish between the ballclubs.

The Prowlers tallied 14 runs on 10 hits and held off a six-run final inning by Seminole to earn the 14-12 win.

Fort Stockton’s Leilani Lopez (2) does a bit of foreshadowing by holding up two fingers during the Prowlers’ last home game against Andrews on March 25. The Prowlers secured their second win over Seminole on April 5. Photo by Nathan Heuer

County preparing for possible wildfire outbreaks

Body

Pecos County Judge Joe Shuster took a precautionary step on Tuesday to aid wildfire breakouts that could potentially take place due to the current drought conditions in the county.

Shuster signed a Disaster of Declaration Threat of Wildfires on April 5 following Governor Greg Abbott’s proclamation that was signed on April 1.

The action by Shuster will allow the county to ask for assistance from the state and federal government for any reimbursements on property loss.
