Fort Stockton ISD Teachers of the Quarter

Belva Houston was named the Alamo Teacher of the Quarter at last month’s school board meeting. Houston is currently teaching ELAR and social studies at the Alamo campus. Houston has worked for Fort Stockton ISD for 52 years.

Melissa Calderon was selected as the Intermediate Teacher of the Quarter for March at Monday’s school board meeting on March 28. Calderon is a bilingual first grade teacher.

Fort Stockton sex offender arrested in Mexico

Pecos County Sheriff T.J. Perkins reported on April 4 that Fort Stockton resident Braulio Davila-Luna, one of Texas’ 10 most wanted sex offenders, was arrested in Mexico by local authorities.

Davila-Luna was found in part to anonymous information provided by a tipster. A reward up to $3,000 was offered for information that led to his arrest.

Panthers offense stays sizzling as first district cycle concludes

Fort Stockton’s high-powered offense has been evident on a consistent basis and key staple to their success this season.

The Panthers tallied a double-digit run total in nine of their 12 wins heading into Friday’s contest at Monahans on April 1.

Fort Stockton rose that mark to 10 of their 13 wins after a 11-7 victory over the Loboes on the road.
