Capital Highlights: Wildfires continue across state

Firefighters are looking to the skies for much-needed rain this week as crews continue battling wildfires across the state. Fires reported Sunday by the Texas A&M Forest Service were being fought in Brown, Taylor, Wilbarger, Llano, Schleicher and San Saba counties.

Local graduates named to Angelo State Dean’s List

Body

Angelo State University announced the students who achieved the Dean's List designation for the 2022 spring semester.

Former Fort Stockton High School Graduate Lindy Ochoa was named to the list. Buena Vista Graduates Carsyn Evans and Jordan Ward were also named to the university’s Dean’s List.

Ochoa is majoring in political science, Ward is majority in management, and Evans is majoring in kinesiology.

Inmate Arrests Report – Pecos County Jail (May 18-25)

Adam Vasquez, of San Antonio at 11:25 a.m., officers from the Department of Public Safety apprehended Vasquez and he was charged with possession of marijuana less than two ounces. Vasquez received a $2,000 PR bond and was released the same day.
