Shovels break ground on 2018 VA Clinic


The West Texas Veteran Affairs Health Care System (WTVAHCS) hosted a
groundbreaking ceremony for their new Fort Stockton clinic on Friday,
July 14.
Director Kalautie JangDhari and her team travelled to the site of the
new clinic at 1201 N. Sycamore St., where they welcomed a select group
of VA officials, as well as local veterans. JangDhari and the VA
honored Vietnam veterans with pins after describing all that the
clinic will have to offer.
According to JangDhari, the clinic will be 5,000 square feet and will
include a lab, a blood drawing room, triage room, women’s exam room, 3
regular exam rooms, tele-health exam areas, and an administrative
“We have already begun hiring staff and providers for this clinic,”
said JangDhari. “We’re working hard to make sure that when this clinic
opens, it is completely ready to meet the demands of the area.”
JangDhari also explained that the clinic will provide primary care and
the Home Based Primary Care Program when it opens, which will provide
services to veterans who are unable to make it to the clinic due to
health problems.
Regarding a prospective date of completion, JangDhari said they are
shooting for late 2018.
“If all goes well, we are looking at opening this clinic fully in
October or November of 2018. We are looking forward to coming back to
Fort Stockton during that time for a grand opening.”
