The FSISD School Board met in regular session on Monday, June 19, 2017 where they discussed the appointment of new representatives to the Recreation Board, as well as to the Board of Directors for the Pecos County Appraisal District.
Two action items on the agenda required that the Board appoint representatives to both the Recreation Board and the Board of Directors for the Pecos County Appraisal District. Nacho Dominguez volunteered to take the position for the Recreation Board, and was unanimously approved.
Regarding the Board of Directors for the Appraisal District, the Board members brought forth a few names that Superintendent Ralph Traynham agreed to follow up on. At this time, the position is still vacant.
In other business, the Board:
-Heard all special achievements as presented by Superintendent Ralph Traynham
-Heard all staff reports
-Approved salary recommendations
-Approved the Shared Services Contracts with Region 18
-Approved presented budget amendments
-Approved Update 108
-Reviewed the School Health Advisory Committee's annual report
-Discussed TASA TASB Fall Convention
-Entered into Closed Session to discuss the appointment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee or to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee, as well as to consult with an attorney. Took no action once they reconvened in Open Session
-Approved the employment of Santiago Hernandez
-Approved the resignations of Leslie Fierro, Abby Gottlich, Jessica Martinez, Logan Sumpter, and Luis Rodriguez
-Approved the transfers of Christina Ogier and Zendel Hernandez
