Hurricane evacuees turn to Fort Stockton for help

Posted

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey's Houston flooding, the Villalon family traveled to Fort Stockton as their neighborhood was submerged by water. Local residents David and RoseMary Portillo have opened their home to the Villalon family, who had to make the painful decision of leaving everything behind.

The Villalon family, along with pregnant friend of the family Cecilia Solis, is in need of sundries, clothes, dog food, and more.

If you would like to make any kind of donation, please call (432) 386-7254. The Villalon family would appreciate the help as they rebuild their post-hurricane life.

For more on how to help those hurt by Harvey, check the Aug. 31 issue of The Pioneer for a full list of local organizations and businesses receiving and distributing donations
