The City Council awarded the bid for a center pivot irrigation system during their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 25. They were quoted for both a galvanized system and a poly system, with the galvanized being about $68,000 compared to the poly’s $75,000. City Manager Frank Rodriguez explained that the poly system would last longer than the galvanized. The Council unanimously voted to accept the bid for the poly system.
The Council also extended their Agriculture, Hunting & Grazing contract with Esequiel Rodarte for an additional five years. Custodial service bids for City Hall, City Hall Annex, and the police department were authorized and will be awarded at a future meeting.
