Fall Fest brings a carnival to the Coliseum

Fall is finally here, and the best way to celebrate the season is at the annual Fort Stockton Fall Festival. The Chamber of Commerce's third annual Fall Fest kicks off this Friday, Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 7. The event will once again be tied-up with the PCMH Health Fair, which will take place inside the Civic Center.

Here's how it will all play out. The Wine & Dine dinner will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., for those who purchased a ticket. Both food and arts and crafts vendors will be available from 7 to 11 p.m. and live music by The Electric Cowboys hits the stage at 9, and will run to 11 p.m. Goat roping is also to be held throughout the day on Friday, beginning at 7 p.m., which is not a "baaad" idea.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, the PCMH Health Fair will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be another chance to enjoy the foods and arts and crafts vendors, as well as Six Shooter team roping, goat roping, and the new addition of a carnival.

Saturday's live music lineup will be some west Texas favorites, which includes The Resonators along with Jay Perez and the band.

Reflecting on Friday's big event, Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Director Crystal Lopez says,

“What's really going to make the Fall Festival different this year is the Garry Moore Amusements carnival. A lot of people are excited for the Electric Cowboys, The Resonators and Jay Perez, so the carnival will just enhance the whole experience.”

Once again spearheading the event, Lopez concluded, "Seeing the carnival light up at night will bring a lot of people to join in on the fun. Every year we have the aguas frescas and brisket burritos, which people here love, but we'll also have carnival foods like cotton candy, funnel cakes, candy apples, and corn dogs. It'll bring a larger variety to the event and I'm excited for everyone to enjoy a bigger and better Fall Festival. We hope everyone can swing by."

The event is free to the public at the Pecos County Civic Center and Coliseum, so clear your schedule to stay in town this weekend. You don't want to miss out on the fun.
