The Pecos County Commissioners’ Court discussed and approved a resolution for the development of a waste water treatment plant in Sheffield.
The commissioners first step in this was to approve a resolution with Sheffield Water Sewer Corporation to transfer ownership from the corporation to Pecos County. After a short discussion, the resolution was approved.
The court then discussed a contract with Enprotec, Hibbs & Todd, Inc. for the treatment plant permit. This item was also approved.
A resolution for the county’s 2017-2018 Colonia Fund application was addressed. The application was for $500,000 of grant funds to provide the Sheffield colonia water and sewer facilities improvements. Pecos County would be responsible for committing $25,000 to contribute to the construction of the facilities. The application was approved by the court.
Plans for construction are ongoing, and the grant application is projected to be either approved or denied in 2018.
