Corral’s softball on fire


The Prowlers had a great night as they opened district play Tuesday with a 13-5 victory over Greenwood, with 19 hits, committing no errors. Amber Corral had the big night for the Prowlers as she went all 7 innings on the mound, throwing 113 pitches, striking out 9 batters ,while only giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and walking 4. At the plate Corral would have the only homerun for the Prowlers, with a total of 3 hits to team with 3 RBIs on the night. Marly Natividad, Mary Villarreal, Kobi Byrd and Dominique Luna also had 3 hits each, and Heliana Bueno had 2 hits, while Crishna Villarreal and Dominique Luna each added one hit.

Last weekend, the Prowlers played in the Snyder Tournament and after suffering losses to Plainview and Stephenville, the Prowlers defeated Tahoka to end play on Friday and secure a place in the Silver Bracket. Once in the Silver Bracket, the Prowlers went 3-0, defeating Wall, Haskell and Forsan, to be named champions of the silver bracket.

The Prowlers improve to 16-6 on the season with this past week’s games. They travel to Seminole this Friday to finish week one of district play before returning home to host Pecos next Tuesday.
