Hungry for some delicious homemade comfort food? Say no more. B's Family Dining has been sharing family recipes with Fort Stockton for four years now, and is still cooking up the goods. Not to mention, the food is fresh and is never frozen.
Located at 101 N. Main St., the diner sits at the street corner and can be easily spotted by its “American Legends” mural painted on the side of the building. Similar to the mural, B's definitely has some American legends on its menu.
From their juicy signature hamburgers to their mouth-watering sirloin steak fries smothered in green chile asadero sauce, B's Family Dining is the downtown spot for some good eatin'. Stop in for their popular lunch buffet that comes with both a salad and dessert.
The buffet can range from a big chicken fried steak to some turkey with dressing. You heard right; B's Family Dining allows Fort Stockton to celebrate “turkey day” year round by hosting Thanksgiving dinner every Friday, and not just the fourth Thursday of November.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, if you don't want to cook on the traditional holiday, then you can have B's cater the turkey and sides for your whole family. The restaurant is now taking orders in advance for Thanksgiving dinners.
Walking through the door of B's Family Dining is like walking into a vintage 50s diner with checkerboard floors and retro bar stools. The family owned business has spacious seating, and welcomes you in like one of their own.
“The relationships are what I cherish most about having B's Family Dining,” said owner Tanya Shuttleworth.“Whether it's a familiar face or a first-time customer, I consider everyone who walks through that door my family. I could tell so many different stories of how costumers have impacted my life.”
Seated at a booth, she opened up on what's to come and revealed, “All-day breakfast is in the talks. That's something my customers frequently ask us about. Serving steaks all day is also something that's in the talks... We're actually going to change up our entire menu and add to it. There are a lot of menu items the customers want to have available everyday, like the Texas-sized brisket-stuffed baked potato with green chile asadero cheese sauce. It's served every Monday, but its grown to be a very popular item here. We listen to our customers, so we're discussing a lot of what we hear them ask for.”
Admiring the restaurant from her seat, Shuttleworth said, “We're still a baby diner, we just had our fourth birthday not too long ago. We're still growing, and I feel like God is using this place for a reason. It's more than just food here. It's conversations, family, and love. I'm excited for what's to come. We love Fort Stockton and we're grateful for all of our customers."
B's Family Dining is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Fridays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed on weekends, except for catering. The buffet is available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
