Fort Stockton businessman and city council member Rueben Falcon is running for the District 74 seat in the Texas House of Representatives.
The announcement was posted on Falcon's Facebook page. A primary is scheduled for March 3, 2020, and a primary runoff is scheduled for May 26, 2020.

District 74 includes the counties of Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Loving, Maverick, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Terrell, and Val Verde. The district covers two time zones and 45,000 square miles, making it he largest state house district in the United States.
The office pays $7,200 per year, plus a $190 per day per diem.
The seat has been held since 2013 by Poncho Nevárez, an Eagle Pass Democrat and House committee chairman. But he announced in November that he would not seek re-election. Days later, he turned himself in to authorities to be booked on felony drug possession charges stemming from an envelope containing cocaine that he dropped at the Austin airport in September. The DPS investigation remains active.
