Ramon P. “Monchie” Garcia

Body

Ramon P. “Monchie” Garcia left us to be in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 21, 2021, at the age of 89. He was born on Sept. 24, 1931, in Ft Stockton to Feliciano Nunez Garcia and Eglentina Pacheco.

Ramon attended Ft Stockton schools and was a life-long Ft Stockton resident.

In April 1951 Ramon enlisted in the US Army and served until April 1953 after which he served in the reserve for two more years.

Kay Diane Kness Wilson

Kay Diane Kness Wilson, 72, passed away May 26, 2021 in her home in Floydada.

She was born January 14, 1949 to Don and Mildred Kness in Kane, PA.  She was a loving mother, wife, nana and friend. She had a huge living and caring heart that was full of love for everyone she met. She loved collecting crosses, butterflies, angels and yarn!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Milldred.

She graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1958 and then attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where she studied business and lived at Providence where she was blessed with gratitude and hospitality.

Dannie Wade Turner

Dannie Wade Turner, 70, of Fort Stockton, Texas, died June 8, 2021, at his residence.

A graveside funeral service was held July 6, 2021, at the Mt. View Cemetery Pavilion. Interment will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman, Texas.

Consuelo Cerda Lopez

Consuelo Cerda Lopez left us to rest in peace on June 30, 2021. She was born on Nov. 2, 1934, in Del Rio, Texas, to Jesus Cerda and Herlinda Borrego Cerda.

Consuelo was preceded in death by her husband Francisco M. Lopez, Jr.; her parents Jesus Cerda and Herlinda Borrego Cerda; siblings Dora Muller, Herminia Gutierrez, Anabelia Garcia, Guadalupe Cerda, Leopoldo Cerda, and Ramon Cerda; son Carlos Lopez; and granddaughter Michelle Lopez.

Federico V. Valenzuela

Federico V. Valenzuela left us to rest in peace on June 16, 2021. He lived in Fort Stockton, Texas, since 1992. He dedicated his life to his work and his passion, landscaping. He also greatly enjoyed cooking for everyone he could. Above all else, he was always willing to help his fellow man.

Federico was preceded in death by his wife Lucia C. Valenzuela; his parents Aurelio and Petra Valenzuela; and grandchild Karlo K. Sales.

Virginia Ruth Price

Virginia Ruth Price passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on June 19, 2021, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 18, 1927, to Pauline Pearl Rippy Willard and Lawrence Anthony Willard, Ruth enjoyed a loving childhood and adolescence in Fort Stockton, Texas.  She graduated valedictorian of her class from Fort Stockton High School in 1944. Ruth then went on to study nursing in San Angelo, Texas, where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1947.

Jose “Joe” P. Martinez, Jr.

Jose “Joe” P. Martinez, Jr., left us to rest in peace on June 17, 2021. He was born on March 18, 1945, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Jose and Maria Martinez.

Joe graduated from Fort Stockton High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He then worked for the Texas proving grounds Bridgestone/Firestone test track, and was nicknamed “The Flying Jalapeno.”
