Opal Mae Yarbrough, 96, of Imperial, Texas, passed away on Feb. 22, 2023, at her home in Imperial.

Visitation and viewing was from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Stockton.

Funeral Services took place at 2 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2023, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Stockton, with John Gambino of Grandfalls Church of Christ officiating. Burial took place Feb. 28, 2023, at Rule, Texas Cemetery. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend in Fort Stockton.

Opal Mae Yarbrough was born in O’Brien, Texas to Lem and Allie Anderson on Dec. 4, 1926. She went to school in Rule, Texas. She married Orman Lee Yarbrough on Aug. 16, 1945, in Haskell, Texas. Her first job was at Timex in Abilene, Texas and later in marriage she helped manage mobile home parks with her husband. She had a passion for fostering children which led to her and her husband Orman adopting three children of their own.

She was a devoted wife, a wonderful homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and attending and serving at her home church.

Opal is preceded in death by parents Lem and Allie Anderson, husband Orman Lee Yarbrough, brother Tommy, sisters Ruby Barbee and Doris Tooley, and her son Wallace Dan Yarbrough.

Opal is survived by daughter DeAnn (David) Crawford, son Randy Yarbrough, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Yarbrough, Daniel Markley, David Lee Crawford, Josh Collier, and Todd Kaufmann.

The family of Opal Yarbrough wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Pecos County Home and Health and Hospice services of Fort Stockton, specifically Donna, Kathy, Eloisa, Meloni, Veronica and Shannon. The family would also like to thank Preacher John Gambino and Valeria Cereceres and all of the friends and family for their love, prayers and support.
