Mike Aguirre Contreras of Saragosa, Texas, passed Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation for Mike Contreras will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 1-7 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, from 10 a.m.--7 p.m., with rosary to follow starting at 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend, 301 N. Main Street in Fort Stockton. Funeral service for Mike Contreras will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas, 620 E. 4th Street Pecos, Burial to follow in Balmorhea, Texas.

Mike Contreras served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse. He spent many years in the oilfield and was known as Big Mike and Cowboy. He loved BBQing and cooking up new inventions for friends and family, his BBQ was requested many times for companies and gatherings. Mike had a horse named Coco he loved very much. Mike was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and everyone. He had nicknames for all of his grandchildren who he loved very much. Mike was a self-proclaimed Lady's Man who's favorite saying was “Pimpin ain't easy.” He was a very social man and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He was known and loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Marcos and Angela Contreras and his siblings Teresa and Danny. Mike is survived by his wife Longina Contreras, sons Mike (Vickie), Jake and daughters Misty (Martin), Maylene (Joseph), Melanie (Cory) as well as his siblings Jr., Frank, Nola and Lori. Mike also had numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Xavier Reyes, Damian Ortiz, Michael Ortiz, Zuni Reyes, Martin Reyes, Cory Tarango, Joseph Ortiz and Angel Valle
