Lucila Armendariz Sanchez went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Midland, Texas at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

Burial will be held at 4 p.m. at the Saint Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Fort Stockton.

Lucila Armendariz Sanchez was born on Nov. 1, 1933, in Rancho Encino Chihuahua, Mexico to Pascual Armendariz and Sofia Leyva.

Lucila was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo R. Sanchez, her parents, her seven siblings: Fausta, Elva, Miguel, Luz Mila, Baldemar, Socorro and Lourdes, her grandson Alex Ortega and her great granddaughter Clarissa Barraza.

Lucila is survived by her three daughters, Manuela Barraza of Kerrville, Texas; Alicia Salinas of Fort Stockton; Leticia Ortega of Midland; her son Jesus Alfredo Sanchez of Atascosa, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed cooking for her family. Her albondigas and red enchiladas were some of her family’s favorite dishes. She was a caregiver for the elderly for many years till she retired. Her family will remember her as being a great mother, great grandmother, great aunt and a wonderful Christian lady.

She was a long-time member of the Fort Stockton Spanish Church of Christ.
