Katherine Majure Farned, born April 12, 1925, in Dixon Community, Neshoba County, Mississippi to Reuel and Marcie Gardner Majure, passed away May 12, 2023, in Denton, Texas at the age of 98. She married William Farned on May 27, 1946, in Union, Miss. and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and sister.

She and William moved Fort Stockton in 1968 after living in eight states and 50 cities. In 1971, she earned her LVN degree and began her nursing career at Pecos County Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1986 to Philadelphia, Miss. She was an active member of 1st Baptist Church in Fort Stockton. Following William’s death, she moved to Denton to be near her daughter Martha (Marty).
She is survived by her daughters and families: Pat and Walker Dunn of Midland; Marty and John England of Denton and Kathy and Dennis Hoelscher of Christoval; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Interment is to be in Philadelphia at a later date.
