Jose Antonio "Tony" Tovar, 42, of Coyanosa, Texas, passed away on Nov. 4, 2023.

Visitation for Tony Tovar was on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, and Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at the Coyanosa Community Building, 4646 S. Frank Street. Rosary will be Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at 7 p.m.at the Coyanosa Community Building. Funeral service will be on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. at St. Jospeh Catholic Church, 403 S. Main Street in Fort Stockton. Burial to follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Tony was born in Fort Stockton to Silvia Martinez and Jose Manuel Tovar on May 14,1981. He graduated from Buena Vista High School in Imperial. He worked as a truck driver. In his 18-wheeler, Tony embodied living life as a highway and there was no distance he wouldn't travel for his family. Tony enjoyed celebrating with his loved ones and brought life to any gathering.

Tony is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elfida and Agapito Lopez and Bartolone Olivas Tovar.

Tony is survived by his sons, Jonathan Tovar and Alejandro Tovar, his daughter Arely Jocelyn Tovar, his brothers, Gabriel Tovar and Jorge Martinez, his sister-in-law Rosalee Higuera, his nephew Jovan Martinez, his father Jose Manuel Tovar, his mother Silvia Martinez, his stepfather Jesus Martinez, his Godparents Araceli Montoya and Dulce Mata, his grandson, and his grandmother Jovita Adame Tovar.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Tovar, Jorge Martinez, Rene Lopez, Jr, Gary Lopez, Marco Padilla, Jr, Miguel Padilla, and Manuel Padilla.

The family of Tony wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to all friends and family who have supported them during this difficult time.
