Joe F. Sullivan passed to eternal life on Jan. 15, 2024, at the age of 88.

Joe was born on April 22, 1935, to Ed T. Sullivan and Shirleyanna Chipman Sullivan. He grew up in Fort Stockton and graduated from Fort Stockton High School. He was drafted into the Army and served in Korea. He was an expert rifleman.

His strength was his love of family and the land. Joe was a farmer at heart but had many skills and knowledge about the things he loved.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Tarrin, his parents Ed and Shirleyanna, his brothers Eddy, Jimmy and Shirl, and his sister Glenda. He is survived by his wife Rosalie; his daughters Liane Sullivan and Karrie (Dana) Spigener; his sons Darrin (Carol) Sullivan and Joe (Sara) Sullivan. He is also survived by his brothers Anson and Redgy and his sister Sharon. He has eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many friends.

To his coffee drinking buddies he says “Come on up, the weather is great.”

His viewing will be Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend in Fort Stockton, and services at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m., with burial at East Hill Cemetery.
