Jo Ann Miller passed away peacefully from this life to meet her Savior on Jan. 1, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on Oct. 18, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas to her parents Alvin Lee Burkhardt and Viola Mae Burkhardt.

Jo Ann had fond memories of her humble childhood growing up in Freer, Texas and eventually graduated as Salutatorian at Three Rivers High School in 1954. She attended San Antonio Business school for a year before meeting her husband Charles Neil Miller. Jo Ann and Charlie were married on April 16, 1955, and together they had five children. With Charlie working in the oilfield, JoAnn enjoyed the simple years of raising her children, making their clothes, teaching them to cook and most importantly, making sure the family was at church every Sunday. Jo Ann began teaching Sunday school and loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family.

She continued to teach Sunday school for the rest of her life where she felt led to teach the children about her Lord Jesus Christ. Known to always have a smile on her face, Jo Ann’s laughter was contagious. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, always putting others first. She had the most generous and loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. "To know her was to love her."
