Jesus R. Bustos, 85 of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on June 26, 2023, in Fort Stockton.

Visitation was Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 2-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend. Recitation of rosary was Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 7 p.m., also at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend. Funeral mass was Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 403 S. Main Street in Fort Stockton, with Father Francis Njoku. Interment followed at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend.

Jesus (Chuy) was born in Shafter, Texas to Esteban and Leonor Bustos on Oct. 22, 1937. He attended school in Balmorhea, Texas.

He married Ermila Guevara on Sept. 20, 1957, in Balmorhea. He worked in retail for 56 years.

Jesus is preceded in death by his parents Esteban and Leonor Bustos; in-laws Esteban and Manuelita Guevara; Matilde Bustos; Luis R. Bustos, and sister Santos Milan.

Jesus is survived by his loving wife Ermila Bustos; sons Luis (Rosalie) Bustos, and Orlando Bustos; sisters Beatrice (Ramiro) Nix; Marylou (Jim) Glocian; grandchildren Andrew Luis Bustos; Alexander Luis Bustos, and Andrea Lee Christiansen; and 9 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Andrew Luis Bustos, Ramon Vasquez, Ray Milan, Rupert Salinas, Johnny Bustos, and LeRoy Jefferson.
