Herman Ramos, a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton, was born May 28,1926 and passed away on Oct. 6, 2023, in League City, Texas. To many, he was a source of guidance and support, and his warm smile and gentle demeanor left an indelible mark on the lives of all fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation to celebrate Herman's rich life will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 4-7 p.m. at Eternity Funeral Home, 600 East Dickinson Boulevard. 

Thursday, Oct. 12, beginning at 9 a.m., Rosary services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Historic St. Joseph Church, 403 South Main Street where we will gather to honor his memory and offer prayers for his eternal rest.

Following the Rosary, at 10 a.m., the Funeral Mass will commence at the same church, affording friends and family one last opportunity to bid farewell to this beloved soul. Subsequently, a burial service will take place at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery, where Herman will find his eternal rest.

Herman proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the US Navy from October 1944 to March 1946. His service aboard the USS Peary, was marked by bravery and dedication, earning him an honorable discharge.

Herman's reunion in eternity includes his beloved wife, Catarina Franco Ramos, daughter Emelinda Ramos and family members who preceded him in death, including his parents, Florentino Ramos and Juanita Salazar Ramos, his brother Jimmy Ramos, and sisters Ernestina Chavarria and Clara Rascon. They are now together in everlasting peace.

Herman's legacy continues through his surviving family. He is survived by his sons, Miguel Franco Ramos and Reynaldo Franco Ramos, and their loving Daughter-in-Laws, Guadalupe Ramos and Norma Ramos, whose unwavering support and love enriched his life.

His cherished grandchildren, Michael Ramos of Corinth, Matthew Ramos of League City, Pamela Carlsward of Houston, and Joshua Ramos of Mont Belvieu will forever treasure the precious memories they shared with their beloved grandfather.

Herman's great-grandchildren, Adam Ramos, Melinda Dombovary, Chloe Ramos, Claire Ramos, Cassandra Ramos, Kaimana Carlsward, Kainoa Carlsward, Ryder Ramos, Rayden Ramos, and River Ramos, will carry forward his legacy of love and devotion.

Pallbearers paying their last respects will be Michael Ramos, Matt Ramos, Joshua Ramos, Adam Ramos, Kaimana Carlsward, and Kainoa Carlsward.

In commemorating Herman's life, we celebrate a man whose legacy of love, wisdom, and strength will forever be engraved in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
