Eloi “Eloy” P. Garcia, 75 of Fort Stockton, passed away on May 20, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. 

Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 12-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend, 301 N. Main Street in Fort Stockton. There will be a rosary recited Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 7 p.m., also at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St Agnes Catholic Church, 4094 North Highway 18 in Fort Stockton. Interment to follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. 

Eloy was born in Fort Stockton, Texas to Apolonio and Angelita Garcia on May 21, 1947. Eloy attended school in Fort Stockton but later received his GED from Odessa College in May 1988. Eloy married the love of his life, Esperanza (Nancy) Luna on March 30, 1973, in Fort Stockton. Eloy worked as a cook at the Sands Motel/Restaurant before becoming a custodian for the Fort Stockton ISD. Eloy was a member of the GI reform but never served. Eloy loved spending quality time with his family and telling jokes. 

Eloy is preceded in death by his parents, Apolonio and Angelita Garcia; sisters Elida Garcia and Jeannie Garcia; brothers Brijido Garcia, Manuel Garcia and Ramon Garcia, and nephew Larry Garcia. 

Eloy is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; son, Omar Garcia; daughter, JoAnn Garcia (Donald) Brown; grandchildren, Christin Brown Garcia; Omar Garcia Jr.; great-grandchild, Jade Rose Brown. Eloy is also survived by his brothers Joe Garcia and Amado Garcia, and sister Mary Pena. 

The family of Eloy P. Garcia would like to thank Dr. Cecil George, Dr. Rachelle Young, Pecos County Home Health, and nurse Yvonne.
