Cory Elmore was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, on Oct. 23, 1967, and left this earth on June 12, 2021. He was the son of Jim Elmore and Shirley Elmore.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Jim Elmore; maternal grandparents Willie Lancaster Pool and John D. Lancaster, Papa Bill Pool, and paternal grandparents Roy Elmore and Sybil Elmore; and cousin Stacy Luera.

Cory is survived by his mother, Shirley Elmore; sister Candy Mehan; daughter Stephanie Elmore; nephews Brandon Mehan and Joshua Mehan; aunt Beverly; uncle Charlie Halbert; cousin Terri Keller; and great cousin Dawson Keller.

Cory will be missed by many loving friends, probably too many to count. Cory loved his faithful dog companion that he called his son “Cokie.”

Cory was a verbal politician - Go Trump. Family and friends would tell him “shshshsh,” but it didn’t matter - he flew that flag. He enjoyed his Sagebrush coffee crew when he could, that being Joe Sullivan, Bob Robertson, Bill Cunningham, Frank Aguirre, and many others who showed up occasionally. Cory had fond memories of Joe Sullivan and his many tractors that were too many to count. He always threatened to tell Rosalie Sullivan about his collection.

Cory graduated in Fort Stockton in 1986. Some of his job experiences included working at Midtown Exxon, TDCJ, Sears, Lariat, Sendera Drilling, and Chevron. He was most recently employed by Work Services Corp., where he was in charge of seven rest areas covering from Andrews, Pyote, and east and west Pecos County.

Cory was so proud to have the opportunity to work in China, learning new technology in building of drilling rigs. He got to experience a different way of life there, but always appreciated the State of Texas.

Cory had a love and passion for older people and animals. He was always willing to go out of his way to help them in any way he could. Cory was the apple of his of mem maw and his mother’s eyes. He was always there to help them around the house in more ways than one. Cory will be loved and missed by all.
