Body

Alfonso “Fonz” Pando, 44, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2022, in Fort Stockton. He fought a long, hard battle with cancer. He never gave up, our Lord was just ready to have him home. We are certain he is in heaven blaring his music for all of heaven to hear, dancing with the angels, and laughing with his dad.

Alfonso had the capability to light up any room he entered with his big personality. He could bring a smile to your face even on your worst days. His heart made him a natural giver. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

His children Bella and Noah were his whole world. He was an amazing dad to those two. He loved them to the end of all numbers.

Alfonso was a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton. He was born to Ricardo and Irma Pando on June 14, 1977. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School, and worked as a plant operator for Enterprise.

Alfonso was preceded in death by his father Ricardo Pando; paternal grandparents Jose and Manuela Pando; maternal grandparents Luciano and Manuela Sanchez; and sister-in-law Dolores Pando.

Alfonso is survived by his daughter Izabella Pando and son Noah Pando of Balmorhea, Texas; mother Irma Pando of Fort Stockton; girlfriend Rumalda Espino Berry of Fort Stockton; brothers Marco Pando of Odessa, Texas, Ricky (Abby) Pando of Round Rock, Texas, and Rafael Pando of Fort Stockton; sisters Bertha Shock, Teri Pando (James Marquez) of Fort Stockton, and Manuela Pando (Jeremy Elledge) of Leander, Texas. He is also survived by five nieces, six nephews, four great nieces and three great nephews. Pallbearers will be his best friends, Geno Lujan, Joe Valeriano, Gabriel Morales, Tommy Dominguez, Adrian Pillado, Tulon Murphy, and Dottie Garza.

Flowers and arrangements may be sent to Heritage Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the special nurses of hospice, Chaplain Scott Owens, family, and friends for all their support, prayers, kind words, food, and donations. They would also like to give a special thanks to Rumalda Espino. Thank you for loving our brother, uncle, son the way you did. We will never be able to express our gratitude for all that you have done for not only Alfonso, but our family. You will forever be a part of our family.
