Alberto Martinez Subia, 83 of Fort Stockton, passed away on May 18, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. 

Visitation will take place Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 1-7 p.m., followed by rosary at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend, 301 N. Main Street in Fort Stockton. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 403 S. Main Street in Fort Stockton. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend. 

Alberto was born in Fort Stockton to Nieves & Petra Subia on Jan. 21, 1940. He married Belsora Moreno. Growing up he worked at several ranches with his dad Nieves as a cowboy. He later worked as a mechanic for many years, and he retired from Pecos County Precinct 2. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nieves and Petra Subia and his son Ricardo Subia. 

Alberto is survived by Marcos (Lou Ann) Tovar; Armando (Martha) Subia; David (Elaine) Subia; sisters Elvira Ramirez and Mary (Robert) Uria, and brother Margarito Subia; grandchildren, Priscilla (Warren) Turner; Matthew Subia; Dominique (Nickalina) Subia; Bjorn Subia; Victoria (Michael) Gonzales; Reba Subia; Joseph Subia; Adrianna Subia; great-grandchildren Nehemiah Subia; Isaac Subia; Hannah Subia; Joshua Turner; Alexander Turner; Micah Subia; Kaleb Subia; Emma Subia; Camilla Subia; Ciela Subia; Nico Subia;  Riley Gonzales;  Santiago Subia; Jody Ray Subia, and Nicholas Perez, and many special nephews and nieces. 

Pallbearers are Dominique Subia, Bjorn Subia, Michael Gonzales, Joseph Subia, Warren Turner and Michael Parisi.
