Marcial Fabula Pacheco, Sr.

Marcial Fabela Pacheco, Sr., 76, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Aug. 24, 2022, surrounded by family after a brief battle with leukemia.

He was born in Colonia Esperanza, Chihuahua, Mexico, on March 18, 1946, to Martin and Celia Pacheco. He had nine siblings, Roberto, Lorenzo, Rodrigo, Rene, Petra, Manuel, Nabor, Juan, and Vicente.

Mateo “Popo” M. Gonzalez, Jr.

Mateo Popo” M. Gonzalez, Jr., 94, passed away on Aug. 11, 2022.  He was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, on Jan. 31, 1928, to Mateo Gonzalez, Sr., and Seferina M. Gonzalez. 

Many years of his life were dedicated to his passion as a rancher/cowboy. After retiring from ranching, Mateo and his family moved to the city where he learned the skill of welding. He was a self-employed welder when he eventually retired from work in his 80s.

Barbara June Pogue

Barbara June (Simmons) Pogue went to be with her Lord and Savior July 22, 2022, at her home in Monahans, Texas. She was born an only child to Rev. Robert F. and Ira Lena Simmons on May 16, 1933. After graduating high school, she married J.B. Pogue, and moved to Imperial, Texas, and together they raised five children, making their final home together in Fort Stockton, Texas. She was a homemaker, and played piano in church from the time she was a young girl until almost the end of her life. She loved working in the church and volunteered her time to various organizations, always helping others. Barbara was preceded in death by her ex-husband and her parents.

Gilbert Lawrence Balch

Gilbert Lawrence Balch, 85 years and eight days, died July 30, 2022, at his home in Baird, Texas. Funeral services took place Aug. 2, 2022, at Cowboy Heritage Church in Clyde, Texas, with Rev. Mike Hudson officiating. Graveside services were held Aug. 2, 2022, in the Coleman City Cemetery. Visitation was Aug. 1, 2022, at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.

David William Kuhn of Odessa, Texas, was born on Aug. 24, 1963, in Falls Church, Va., the third son of the late Thomas Edward Kuhn and Mary Walker Kuhn of Grandfalls, Texas. He was married to Katherine Baker Kuhn of Odessa. He entered the glory of heaven on July 13, 2022.

Henrietta Murillo Ayala

Henrietta Murillo Ayala, 85, of Betteravia, Calif., passed away on May 27, 2022, in San Angelo, Texas. Henrietta was born in Betteravia to Manuel and Paz Murillo on July 14, 1937.

She went to school at Santa Maria High School. She married Juan Luna Ayala in November 1967 in California.

She was a homemaker, and her love was caring for her husband and daughter.
