AREA SALES TAX

The chart above represents sales tax numbers from this year compared to last years. The April 20 and April 21 numbers are from sales tax in the respective cities in the month of February. On the right the sales tax information represents the year-to-date numbers compared to the year to date numbers at the same time a year ago. The City of Fort Stockton has a current sales tax rate of 8.25% and of that that rate, 6.25% is retained by the state each month before sending the city their amount, which is received two months later.

Students to participate in art competition

Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) is inviting high school students throughout the Texas 23rd Congressional District to participate in the 2021 Congressional Art Competition. Students in grades 9-12 may submit twodimensional entries such as paintings, drawings, photos, computergenerated art, collages, and prints to Gonzales’ office for consideration.
