A head-on collision between two semis on FM 1053, one mile north of Fort Stockton, resulted in a death of an El Paso man on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a Kenworth truck with a trailer was heading south in the northbound lane for unknown reasons when it collided with a Peterbilt truck with a trailer at 1:30 p.m.

The Kenworth truck then caught fire.

Driver of the Kenworth truck, Jorge Marin, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pecos County Judge Joe Shuster.

Driver of the Peterbilt truck, Jose Eduardo, 59, of Odessa, was treated for minor injuries and released.

According to the Pecos County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened between 41st and 43rd lane on FM 1053.
