The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service and Pecos County Dinner Tonight Cooking Club will host their annual Healthy Cooking School on Thursday, March 30, at the Large Community Hall in Rooney Park. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Besides cooking demonstrations, there will be door prizes and drawings for a new mixer and kitchen equipment. Everyone attending will receive a meal and a gift bag.

Tickets are only $20 per person and may be purchased at the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Office, or by calling 432336-2541.

With the recent COVID pandemic, and the closure of most restaurant, more people started preparing meals at home. To teach Pecos County residents nutritional meal prep options, the Healthy Cooking School will demonstrate ways to prepare delicious and healthy meals as well as having vendor booths from area services to provide additional resources and materials.

Led by Karan Heffelfinger, there will also be live cooking demonstrations by Frances Armstrong and Evans Walker on how to prepare charcuterie boards, cowboy salad and tuna deluxe. Members of the Dinner Tonight Cooking Club will be on hand to help. Sponsors and venders for the Healthy Cooking School are Belding Farms, Cactus Health, Century 21, City Bank, Gifts by Siri and El Buen Vecino.

For more information call the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Center at (432) 336-2541.
