Jennifer L. Gonzales will become the next Fort Stockton ISD School Board Trustee of Ward 7 following the certification of unopposed candidates at the district’s regular board meeting on March 27.

Gonzales was unopposed for the upcoming election and will replace the seat that is currently held by Andy Rivera.

The school board’s action at last Monday’s meeting cancelled the Ward 7 election.

Rivera’s last meeting as a board member will be at the end of April.

According to Gonzales’ application for a place on the ballot, which can be found on the FSISD website, she has resided in the ward for the past 5 years and 4 months and has lived in the state of Texas for the past 10 years.

The lone contested school board race will be in Ward 1 between Nathan Tapp, Kay Griffith, and Daniel Rangel.

Early voting will begin April 24. Election day will be on Tuesday, May 6.
